Dr Areti (Ari) Metuamate (BA (Hons) VUW, MSt, PhD ANU, MAIATSIS) is a higher education leader and political scientist, currently serving as Master of Ormond College at the University of Melbourne, one of Australia鈥檚 largest and leading university colleges. He has extensive experience across universities, residential colleges, and governance in education.
Dr Metuamate is deeply committed to supporting young people to succeed academically while developing the skills, values, and confidence to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society. His work reflects a strong interest in Indigenous leadership, education, and governance, and he writes regularly on Indigenous politics and regional issues in the Pacific. He is married to Aboriginal educationalist Dr Jessa Rogers, and they have three children.
